Task guide
Review and record a supplier payment
Review a payable account, record the payment, and check how the supplier balance changes.
Quoted control names match Riel’s Spanish interface.
Before you start
- The supplier and purchase documents must already be recorded. Have the currency, date and payment amount ready.
- Prepare the payment method and a compatible outgoing account when cash management is active. Check any withholdings that apply to your transaction.
Step by step
-
Review outstanding documents
Open “A pagar”, select the supplier and review their payable account. Check each document, due date and balance before selecting “Registrar pago”.
-
Prepare the payment
Under “Documentos a imputar”, select the documents and amounts to settle. Enter “Fecha de pago”, the method and amount; select “Cuenta de origen” where required. Review applicable withholdings before continuing.
-
Check the review
Select “Revisar pago”. Verify the supplier, date, currency, money paid and any withholdings. Check each document allocation and resulting balance. Use “Volver a editar” if anything needs correcting.
-
Save the record
Select “Guardar pago”. Inspect the saved payment, then return to the supplier account to check the movement and balances of the affected documents.
Recording a payment records the operation in Riel. It does not itself instruct a bank transfer: move the money through the channel you use with your supplier.
What to check when you finish
- The saved payment shows the supplier, date, methods and allocations you reviewed.
- The payable balance is reduced by the allocated amounts. Check any withholdings or unapplied credit separately.
- When the payment affects cash management, check the movement in its outgoing account.
